Editors’ note: The capitalist system has led to large-scale obscenities of poverty and overexploitation of the Earth’s resources. The profit motive leads to millions of tonnes of food being dumped to keep prices up. There is great imbalance in the distribution of wealth with 10% or less of the population owning 90% or more of the wealth. People will do anything for profit, even sell nuclear bomb materials. It is obscene that every night millions of people go to bed starving while elsewhere billions of dollars are spent on sport. The whole world shares this shame.
