Taoist Teaching

Filial Devotion

Editors' note: Taoists had a hierarchy in the house under a patriarch. They taught, similarly to Gurdjieff, that a man was not a man until he was able to keep other people. Respect for elders was important and elderly parents were looked after by their families. Taoists believed the only immortality people had was through their children.
