Zaid:  Could you please speak on the subject of living in the moment, and about the awareness, and observation necessary to practice this effectually.

Abdullah: Many people confuse living in the moment with the disease of tomorrow or, in other words, let's live it up and to hell with what's going to happen later. Mainly their idea is to satisfy their desires of the moment. To live in the moment is a big thing; you may get a taste from the mantram, 'In the ever present here and the eternal now', which is another way of saying God. If you want to learn to live in the moment you must have faith and trust in God. You must realize that everything on the planet is the lila of God, and if you have faith and trust then whatever conditions you are in are best for you. The Holy Prophet's injunction must also be remembered - Trust in God, but hobble your camel.
